Commemorating the Golden Jubilee Year of the Installation of Shri
Sai Baba’s Idol in the Samadhi Mandir at Shirdi and the 86th Punyatithi/Mahasamadhi
Day a book titled ‘The Life and Teachings of Shri Sai Baba in NVGs
Shri Sai Sat-charita’ edited by Shri M. Krishna Kumar
(004, Ground Floor, Arizona Heights, Plot No. 79/A, Teachers’
Colony, East Marredpally, Secunderabad - 500 026.) was released on 22nd October, 2004 by Shri Bhausaheb Wakchaure,
Executive Officer, Shree Sai Baba Sansthan Trust (Shirdi). The
Idol of Shri Sai Baba was made by the internationally renowned
sculptor Shilpamaharshi late Balaji (Bhausaheb) Vasantrao
Talim and installed on
7th October,
1954. The book titled ‘The Life and Teachings of Shri Sai Baba in
NVGs Shri Sai Sat-charita’ rejuvenates the ‘Shri Sai Sat-charita’
translated in English by late Shri Nagesh Vasudev Gunaji. The book
takes the devotees to the period between 1922 and 1929 when the
original ‘Shri Sai Sat-charita’ by Hemadpant in Marathi was
written. The illustrations/photos are in black and white and are
prior to the Idol Installation in 1954.
A divine coincidence is that when the Idol of Shri Sai Baba was to
be installed in the Samadhi Mandir at Shirdi on the
Vijayadashmi Day of 1954, the second edition of Shri Sai Sat-charita
by Gunaji was offered as naivedya and published in January,
1954 and Shri Sai Baba made Shri M. Krishna Kumar offer the
naivedya in the form of rejuvenated of Gunaji’s ‘Shri Sai Sat-charita’
on occasion of the completion of 50 years of Idol Installation.
True to His assurances, Shri Sai Baba assigns different works to
each of His devotees.
In order to maintain the fragrance of Shri Sai Baba in the book
the sale price of the book has been fixed at an affordable Rs.
63/- excluding postage/courier charges.
